Shogun Assassin (1980)

Shogun Assassin is a interesting case of "adaptation" of a Japanese film for the western audience, basically, Robert Houston decided to edit the "best" parts of the movies Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance and Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx, dub it in english and distribuite to the american Grindhouse circuit and the British market (in the United Kingdom, the movie became one of the infamous video nasties: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_nasty but it got realeased uncut on DVD).

The movie is cool and with loads of blood spraying (it's one of the bloodiest action movies ever made), the dubbing is okay, but sometimes it gets hilarious and cheesy.
The soundtrack is pretty cool and it was made for the Shogun Assassin edit, NOT for the original Lone Wolf and Cub movies.

Anyways, i still haven't seen the original Lone Wolf and Cub movies, so i can't make any comparsion, but ill'check them out when i can.
